Serving local communities

LSESD pursues its mission in an integrated holistic approach that addresses the spiritual, emotional, and physical needs of the community. Referred to by the U.N. as the universal “passport to human development”, education is a key area of focus for LSESD.

Millions of displaced people and other vulnerable communities in the MENA region lack security and financial stability, and are in vital need of assistance. Through local faith-based partners, LSESD provides several thousand families with the basics to survive – food, clothing, health services and items to keep them warm during harsh winters.

The horrors of war leave deep psychological and emotional scars on the community. We provide psychosocial support to traumatized children and youth to help heal their psychological wounds and enable them to cope better with everyday life.

We invest considerably in education, desiring children to reach their full potential and improve their lives long-term. We also support those who struggle with learning differences, providing awareness and resources to public and private schools, as well as advocating for inclusive educational communities. Education is also at the center of our relief work, since it has the power to shape a whole community’s future.

Through livelihood and development projects, we help vulnerable communities to gain new skills so that they can better support themselves and their families.
