A mission trip to Sudan proved to be life-transforming for many LSESD staff back in 2004.
“The idea of going out to a ‘harder country’ and serve was new to most Lebanese,” admits Rosette Mansour, who was part of the team of 25 from LSESD who visited.
The trip took place when Sudan was going through a civil war. The team travelled to different areas in the country, providing theological teaching and helping women, children and young people. They met with locals in displacement centers and would sometimes drive for hours just to visit a church tent in the wilderness.
“The trip was encouraging for the Sudanese Church and life-changing for us,” says Rosette. “It taught us to appreciate God’s blessings in our lives and to be thankful for what we have.”
