

McKenzie “Mac” Pier

Dr. Mac Pier is the CEO and Founder of MOVEMENT.ORG. Over the years, he played a pivotal role in various initiatives, including serving as an Area Director for InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, co-founding Concerts of Prayer in 1988, and establishing the Church Multiplication Alliance with Dr. Tim Keller in 2003. His dedication to united prayer and church planting significantly contributed to the remarkable 300% growth of evangelical Christianity in Manhattan from 1989 to 2009. In 2008, he founded The New York City Leadership Center, later renamed Movement.org, which gave rise to Movement Day in 2010. Dr. Pier’s global impact extended to his role as Co-Catalyst for Cities in the Lausanne Movement. He holds a Master of Arts degree in religion from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School and a doctorate from Palmer Theological Seminary. Dr. Pier is also an accomplished author of eight books, with notable recognition for “A Disruptive Gospel” in 2018. After 35 years in New York City, he and his wife Marya have built a family with three married children and four grandchildren.
