“We need more such trainings!!”

“The workshop opened our eyes to important considerations that we need to think of in the planning process.”

“We wish we had this training when our church first started relief work.”

These and similar statements reflected the impact of the workshop that brought together participants from 12 different LSESD partner churches and ministries in Lebanon. Unfortunately, tension in northern Lebanon prevented our Syrian partners from being able to cross over to participate in this training that was led by Tearfund (UK), in the person of  experienced  Disaster Risk Management Advisor and trainer, Robert Hansford.  The purpose of the training was 1) to enable participants to understand the linkages between Christian motivated response and international codes and standards of good practice; 2) introduce them to tools that will equip them to best use their resources to respond to the current emergency needs; and 3) to introduce them to Tearfund’s Quality Standards and their relevance for the church in their response activities.
