Mike Karam

Senior Accountant

Mike Karam lives by the motto, “Do what you love”, and he loves accounting. That’s why his role as the Senior Accountant at LSESD is a perfect fit for him. It combines his love for God with his love for numbers. The route that brought him to this point traversed two bachelor’s degrees in accounting—one from the American University of Cultural Education and the other from the government-sponsored Institute of Tourism. Through these programs, he acquired a superior knowledge of accounting, auditing, and Microsoft Office, which help him to manage all of LSESD’s and BCYM’s accounts as well as write financial reports.
One of Mike’s core values is transparency, which is essential in the accounting business. His work ethic is defined by the verse, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men” (Colossians 3:23). He truly believes that he is serving the Lord and that the Lord has a plan for everyone.

Mike also believes that one should face his weaknesses by developing them until they become his strengths. He demonstrates this by making a point of learning whatever he’s afraid of so that he’s not afraid of it anymore. A perfect example of this is his love for extreme sports such as longboarding and snowboarding. If it’s too easy, it’s no fun—he prefers difficult challenges and taking risks. Fortunately for Mike, he’s extremely teachable and ready to learn, which makes him a great candidate for trying new things!
