Who We Are
We are a Lebanese nonprofit that seeks to strengthen the witness of the Church in the Arab World through inclusive education, community development, and church discipleship.
We work alongside local schools, ministries, and churches throughout the Arab World. Through these relationships, we see God at work, even in times of war and crisis. Come share in His miraculous, life-giving work of transforming communities and changing lives.

Bearing Much Thimar – October Newsletter
What a joy it has been to be able to look back and witness God’s work, protection, and guidance in every step taken throughout the past 25 years. From day one, when we first started, till this very day, we have seen and first-handedly felt God’s presence in our lives and in the lives of the people we served and partnered with.
We gathered to celebrate His faithfulness before ours. We gathered to celebrate the power of His gospel to change lives rather than our persuasive efforts. We gathered to celebrate His love and compassion for the brokenhearted rather than our acts of service. It is with humility but also with great responsibility that we say all this.
Fruitful and Multiplying: 9 Visions for Evangelical Ministry in the Middle East
Middle East evangelicals must emulate China.
So stated Nabil Costa, chief executive officer of the Lebanese Society for Education and Social Development (LSESD), at his organization’s 25th anniversary celebration, held last week [Oct. 27] at LSESD’s Beirut Baptist School (BBS).
Thimar: Navigating Uncertainty with Faith and Hope
I was privileged to be a participant at the Loving God and Neighbour conference which was a time of great blessing and inspiration. Along with nine others I had the additional privilege of being invited to be part of a listening, or review, team with the task of contributing to Thimar’s review of strategic priorities for the next stage of ministry. This created the challenge to listen, not only to the speakers and panellists, but also to friends and supporters who shared their experiences of working in partnership with Thimar.
That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers.

Church Empowerment
Equipping and edifying the Church in the MENA Region
(ABTS & DMAH)
As the Church in the Arab world continues to expand and adapt to its ever-changing surroundings, there is a strong need to ensure that Arab Christian leaders are well-prepared to lead in their local communities and that the people of God are well-fed to be able to grow in faith and understanding. For this reason, ABTS and DMAH work to ensure that Christian leaders and believers across the MENA region are well equipped to engage with others from different faith backgrounds and stand firm in their faith and spread the Word of God.
Relief and Development
Restoring Hope to the Hopeless
(MERATH & BCYM)
After eight years of unabated human displacement, rather than decreasing, the needs of those affected by the violence in neighboring countries has only increased. Through the work of MERATH and BCYM, THIMAR-LSESD is able to respond to the ongoing refugee crisis and reach out to the most vulnerable in the community. These needs include not only material and educational needs, but also spiritual ones.
Inclusive Education
Providing Quality Education and Advocating for those with Learning Differences
(BBS & SKILD)
Both BBS and SKILD have made it their mission to provide quality education for all types of learners. Learning style assessments and behavioral programs are at the heart of their mission to show children that they are capable of achieving great things despite their individual learning styles. By providing a learning environment that is not only accepting but also fun and incorporates faith-based values, BBS and SKILD help all children to see that they are valuable and have the right to succeed and enjoy life.
