Three of our ministries celebrated graduations, and each was unique in its own way.
Read their testimonies and personal experiences.
“At NDU I have learned a lot of things like completing chores and learning to be independent. I know one day that I will get the job of being a librarian. I would like to thank you all for making my life really great and I would love to remember you all forever.”
-NDU-SKILD IDEAL Program Graduate
“It is an honor to be given the opportunity to express my gratitude towards my second home. For the last 15 years of my life, this school has provided nothing but all I’ve ever needed to become who I am today. Throughout the years, we have weathered storms together- metaphorically and literally. Our journey has been marked by moments That required us to dig deep and find the courage to keep moving forward. In the face of these adversities, our school became our pillar of strength. To principal Alice Wazir, thank you for constantly going above and beyond to ensure our success.”
– Ms. Leah Dahrouj, BBS Valedictorian Graduate
“I only studied a part of Grade 1 in Syria, but then my dad said it is time to go because of the war. I enjoyed school here because I was able to learn how to read and write. I even learned English! What I like most about school is that I get to study. I also like that they side with the right person in case there is a conflict between students. They are fair. When I grow up, I would like to become a pediatrician. I would like to go back to Syria if the war ends, but now, there is no future for education there and I do not want to stop learning. I would be devastated if we were sent back to Syria before securing a future there.”
-Jana, a Syrian refugee graduate at the Clementia Learning Center – MERATH
